Bauma report: Liebherr extends model programme for industrial handling work

Liebherr has enlarged its successful portfolio of special-purpose wheel loaders for industrial handling tasks, and has exhibited the new products at the 2013 Bauma.

The specially developed industrial lift arms are available for Liebherr’s L 514 to L 580 wheel loaders as an alternative to the standard lift arms, with no difference in price.  Depending on the customer’s requirements, either a Z-pattern linkage can be supplied for standard operating tasks or a P-pattern linkage for industrial handling work.
The special geometry of the industrial lift arms provides exceptionally high lift moment and retaining forces in the upper part of the lifting range. At the same time, the precisely parallel load movement over the entire lifting range is a major safety factor, since manual correction by the operator is not necessary.

High-lift industrial arms for use in recycling and timber handling
The industrial high-lift version has advantages when loading and compacting bulk material in high-bodied trucks, for example the 4-metre high walking floor containers used on recycling work. Light weight paper or domestic garbage can be loaded very easily and compacted at the same time.

Single lever control for safe working
For the new IIIB wheel loader generation, Liebherr supplies as an option a new control lever with an additional miniature joystick attached. This is especially useful for industrial tasks, when hydraulic attachments such as high-level dump buckets with a holding-down device may call for several working movements to be performed simultaneously. With the aid of the additional mini-joystick the driver can control two additional hydraulic functions easily and safely with a thumb movement. This permits accurate, sensitive and safe operation of all the machine’s working and travel functions, since the driver’s left hand always remains on the steering wheel and does not have to be moved to a different point.
