RIMA E-Power Technology: Revolutionising Hybrid Components from RIMA S.P.A.
In the ever-evolving field of automation solutions and components for lifting, industrial handling, and environmental sectors, RIMA E-Power Technology marks a major step forward. This innovative range introduces advanced automation capabilities alongside highly optimised hydraulic flow management.
At bauma 2025, Rima Spa, the Montichiari-based manufacturer—established in 1972 and renowned for designing and producing hydraulic cylinders, hydraulic stabilisers, and slewing rings for lifting, industrial handling, waste management, and agricultural applications—will unveil three prototypes first launched late last year: the electric stabiliser, electric cylinder, and electric actuator.
The standout feature of E-Power Technology is its seamless integration of electrical components within traditionally hydraulic and mechanical systems. For example, the electric cylinder operates via a motor and pump mounted onto a monoblock assembly complete with an integrated reservoir, enabling fully autonomous functionality. Controlled precisely through a PLC and electric cable, it ensures smooth and responsive operation.
Unlike traditional hydraulic cylinders, RIMA's electric cylinder eliminates the need for external hydraulic power units and cumbersome hydraulic hoses, as all necessary components are contained within one compact module. A key advantage of E-Power Technology is the streamlined hydraulic flow management it enables. While fully electric solutions are gaining popularity, many applications still demand the robust power only hydraulic systems can provide.
RIMA's hybrid approach strategically integrates electrical components in hard-to-reach areas typically serviced by complex hydraulic pipework, significantly reducing load on hydraulic systems, simplifying maintenance, and cutting costs and space requirements.
The three prototypes showcased at BAUMA 2025 are undergoing rigorous testing across multiple operating environments to ensure each solution perfectly meets sector-specific demands. The RIMA team works hand-in-hand with customers' technical and production teams, refining project specifications and carefully selecting materials, sizing motors appropriately, and ensuring seamless integration with existing control systems.
This meticulous approach enables RIMA to deliver tailor-made solutions that combine operational efficiency, sustainability, and leading-edge technology. With E-Power Technology, RIMA provides a practical pathway for businesses looking to intelligently upgrade their machinery while balancing the strengths of traditional hydraulics with modern electric innovation.
