Hitachi presents specially adapted ZX390TC-7 excavator at Intermat

Hitachi Construction Machinery (Europe) NV (HCME) will display the ZX390TC-7 excavator at Intermat on 24-27 April. Based on a Hitachi ZX350LC-7 standard excavator, with Zaxis-7 technology and Stage V-compliant engine, the new tool carrier model has been specially adapted to work with larger working tools, and can be used for secondary demolition works.

Larger boom and bucket cylinders, and a one-class-higher reinforced linkage, enable the ZX390TC-7 to carry five-tonne tools, such as hydraulic shears for crushing that would normally be used by larger machines. It is equipped with a full hydraulic control system, suitable for use with all attachments, which can be changed within seconds from the operator’s seat. The model on display at Paris-Nord Villepinte (stand 6H039) is fitted with an OilQuick OQ80 automatic quick coupler system and Demarec crusher attachment.

Safety in mind

For added stability, the ZX390TC-7 has a robust 25 cm longer undercarriage than the standard ZX350LC-7, and is supplied with an additional 1.4-tonne counterweight. To ensure the safety of operators, the machine has side impact protection and a demolition-spec cab with FOPS guard level 2 and high-spec P5A safety glass. Safety is also enhanced by the exceptional visibility from the cab, particularly from the 270-degree bird’s-eye view provided by the Aerial Angle camera system.

Like all Zaxis-7 excavators, the ZX390TC-7 provides exceptional durability for heavy duty applications and especially demolition projects. Main components and spare parts, renowned for quality and reliability, are supplied by Hitachi. Furthermore, the modifications are approved by Hitachi’s quality assurance team, and the new model is covered by Hitachi warranty and service programmes.

“The introduction of the ZX390TC-7 shows how Hitachi is addressing the specific requirements of such industries, delivering a specially equipped model that sits between the existing ZX350LC-7 and ZX490LCH-7 models,” says Burkhard Janssen, Product Manager Special Applications and New Technologies at Hitachi Construction Machinery (Europe) NV.

“There is growing demand for 40-tonne-class machines in Europe, capable of boosting productivity and efficiency on heavy duty applications and demolition job sites. We are constantly listening to the needs of our customers, particularly regarding improvements to productivity and efficiency.”

The ZX390TC-7 is one of three special application machines that Hitachi has developed exclusively with KTEG (Kenki Technology Group GmbH), a joint venture between Hitachi Construction Machinery Co., Ltd and Kiesel Technologie Entwicklung GmbH.

Like all the Hitachi models on display at Intermat, the ZX390TC-7 is available through Hitachi Premium Rental and can be purchased using Zaxis Finance – both initiatives will also be promoted at the exhibition.
