IFAT 2020: outdoor area to grow
World's largest environmental technology trade fair with record exhibition space next year.
In late April, the registration deadline for the main IFAT 2020 exhibitors elapsed. In response to the great demand, Messe München now expands the exhibition space by 10,000 square meters. Thus, the World's Leading Trade Fair for Water, Sewage, Waste and Raw Materials Management, which will take place from May 4 to 8, 2020, will span a new record area of 270,000 square meters. Managing Director Stefan Rummel: “The great demand by exhibitors has encouraged us to expand the presentation area of IFAT 2020. With an additional 10,000 square meters of outdoor space, we want to take adequate account of the importance that environmental technologies have for the development of our economy and society.”
Closing raw material cycles
More than ever, the IFAT organizers will be using the new record area to foster innovation and present concrete application examples for closed raw material cycles. Rummel specifies: “For the first time, we will bundle the exhibition segments ‘Management of hazardous substances’, ‘Demolition and mineral processing’ and ‘Road construction’. In so doing, we will demonstrate how to close the cycle for construction and demolition waste and will expand our offering for municipal visitors.” The new special area is particularly interesting for exhibitors from the building construction and civil engineering sectors and focuses on sustainable road construction. Those wishing to present themselves in this area can register now until the end of the year.
Promoting innovation
Also start-ups and research institutes interested in the special area experience.science.future. can still decide to take part in the world's leading trade fair and register from July 17, 2019 to January 22, 2020. Right at its debut in 2018, the future platform for the industry's masterminds and emerging talents proved to be a central pool of ideas and will be continued next year. “experience.science.future. offers young companies and think tanks in particular the opportunity to establish themselves in this promising market and to network with potential partners and investors. So, in 2020 as well, we will provide new impetus for the industry,” Rummel concludes.
