Tower Light’s Lighting and Dust Suppression Sets Get Ready for Intermat
Tower Light Srl, the market leading manufacturer of commercial lighting systems, alongside their sister division DF Ecology, are exhibiting examples from their lighting and dust suppression range at the forthcoming Intermat Paris 2015 Show.
Dust pollution in quarries, mines and on demolition sites, has long been a perennial problem for the industry, especially in urban areas and during the summer months. To help combat this environmental condition, Tower Light / DF Ecology has developed the Dust Fighter range. Dust Fighters produce a fine mist of water through a series of high-pressure jets with the spray propelled onto the site by a powerful fan, covering a wide area in just a few moments. This assists to render the area free from unhealthy and hazardous material.
“With health and safety officials, throughout Europe and beyond, stringently enforcing the control of hazardous material on sites, the demand for the dust control units are set grow rapidly”, contended Simone Dalu, DF Ecology’s Product Manager. “We are currently expanding our Dust Fighter range into the international markets and we will be seeking to continue this expansion through the overseas visitors that come to Intermat,” added Simone.
DF Ecology now produces the largest range of dust suppression units available from one single source. The company currently boasts a line of sets which will cover from 5 to 120 metres, available as standalone units or with an integral power generating set. DF Ecology dust suppression sets are also available with or without water tanks ranging from 2000 to 16000 litres.
DF Ecology has a high profile throughout the world with their products used in many different market sectors. During the past year, DF Ecology’s research and development team has produced new machines that will control dust both inside and outside. This means the company can expand its area of operations to include new sectors. These are: landfill sites, refuse dumps, quarries, mining, together with aggregate and metal recycling plants - both inside and outdoors. The company is very able and adept at producing bespoke products that will enhance the health of workers in all of these sectors.
It is becoming increasingly important to deploy dust suppression machinery at quarries and mines. Not only do these products help to improve the standards of safety at the site but they also contribute to an overall improvement of efficiency at work. It is clear that dust is a health hazard but in addition, the presence of dust contributes to a reduction in the visibility of drivers and workers, which can be a danger to themselves and their co-workers. Dusty environments will also increase the need for regular and enhanced maintenance of affected machinery.
Under the spotlight on stand 5A E165 will be the DF Ecology’s DF7500 model and three Tower Light’s lighting towers, the 4x300W LED VT1-L, the hybrid solution Hydro Power Cube Hybrid and the compact, easily-handled MT1.
Many in the European construction, mining and quarrying industries will already be familiar with the best selling Tower Light VT1 lighting tower; however for the remaining unenlightened, Tower Light will be displaying an example of their latest variant of this award winning lighting unit.
With the worlds’ environmental organisations continuing to demand severe reductions in carbon footprints, pollution and energy usage, Tower Light engineers actively researched new processes that will provide safe lighting levels and offer serious cost benefits for the consumer, whilst working towards saving vital natural resources. Working closely with world-wide rental firms, trade associations and environmental agencies, Tower Light has developed the Hydro Power Cube Hybrid lighting tower - a lighting unit that utilises modern LED lighting with advanced battery power systems.
As the name suggests, the Tower Light HPC-Hybrid features a hybrid battery/diesel system with auto charging technology. The battery is automatically recharged via a low battery monitor system through the integral 5 kVA power generator, combining 7-hours battery power with 7-hours generator usage. Tower Light has configured the HPC-Hybrid’s batteries so that they can also be recharged via ordinary mains power. The battery has 4000 hours life and the generator engine consumes just 0.5 litres per hour when in use - fuel usage is so low that the set can run for over 500 hours on one tank of fuel. The fuel tank is fully bunded against leakage so environmental concerns about ground contamination are completely avoided and, in addition, the system contributes almost zero noise pollution as it remains totally silent for at least 50% of the time. The canopy is designed to be attractive, robust and ideally suited for easy maintenance; making it right for a modern commercial construction or outside event rental fleet, whilst the operator could save over € 400 in fuel costs per week when using a HPC-Hybrid lighting set, instead of a conventional lighting tower. The reduction in operator costs that the HPC-Hybrid provides for the end user will render an opportunity for rental firms to command a significant increase in their rental revenues combined with a reduction in their maintenance costs, making this lighting tower a valuable product within a rental fleet.
“’The Hydro Power Cube Hybrid is our latest contribution to bring to the attention of users of lighting towers the amount of fuel savings that can be achieved by using this set,” commented Alessandro Rossi, Global Sales Director of Tower Light Srl. “With green issues increasingly becoming put at the forefront of a site manager or event organiser’s plans, we believe that HPC-Hybrid energy saving capabilities will be of keen interest to all environmentally conscious coordinators”.
All of the Tower Light team, on stand 5A E165, are looking forward to meeting with customers old and new and are keen to explain the cost saving and wider environmental benefits of their expanding lighting and dust suppression equipment.
Tower Light’s and DF Ecology’s manufacturing plant for lighting towers is based in Villanova d’Ardenghi near Milan, Italy from where their products are distributed worldwide via a global network of distributors.
Tower Light Srl and DF Ecology are parts of the US based Generac Power Systems Group and they’ll change their legal name into Generac Mobile Products Srl starting from March 2015.
